"The Internship" Movie Catches Up to Super Interns' Modern Day Internships

Published on

Boston, MA, June 07, 2013 –(PR.com)– The new comedy “The Internship,” in which Billy and Nick, played by Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson respectively, depict two middle aged men who recently find their careers irrelevant due to the digital world. Billy and Nick acquire an internship at Google, where they must compete against tech-savvy college aged geniuses for a job. They face difficulties in understanding digital technology as well as discrimination due to their age. Vince Vaughn has said that the movie’s main message is about hope and how sometimes you have to try something new to get a fresh start.

“We are thrilled that ‘The Internship’ is sharing with the world what we’ve been doing for 10 years!” exclaimed Super Julie Braun, Co-founder and 1/2 of the Dynamic Duo of Super Interns.

“We’ve all known professionals, middle aged or older, who lost their jobs and could potentially be out of work for 18 months or longer. We saw that many of those people didn’t have the digital abilities that they needed to be viable candidates for new opportunities and they were in direct competition with younger tech-advanced graduates. As advocates for all interns, we encouraged unemployed professionals to get internships to fill their resume gaps and freshen their skills,” added Super Michelle Demers, the other 1/2 of the Dynamic Duo.

At Super Interns, Braun and Demers focus on how to help both businesses and non-profit organizations grow and thrive, while at the same time, provided high level, exciting, virtual internships to people that need them.

Braun stated, “For people who can’t get a job, go get an internship. It will get you out of the unemployment line and put you back in to the business world. CNNMoney did a survey which showed that as many as 58% of internships turn in to full time paid careers. Almost everyone can find 10 hours a week to intern and that internship can be leveraged in to a job. If you are working virtually, the options are even greater because you can work from anywhere, any time, with employers all over the world.”

“Mature people, like stay-at-home-moms and dads who want to go back to work, or unemployed professionals, or even people who just want to explore changing their careers, can all benefit from a virtual internship. If they want, they can get hands on experience and improve their technology skills while working from the comfort of their own home,” added Demers.

The Dynamic Duo of Super Interns www.SuperInterns.com, Super Julie Braun and Super Michelle Demers, have worked with well over 2000 virtual interns all across the country for a variety of businesses and non-profit organizations. They are the thought leaders in the field of virtual internships and are able to train both employers and interns on working effectively in a virtual environment.

Entrepreneur Mistakes: Unimportant Interruptions

Do not allow anyone to throw your day off. Nothing like  unimportant interruptions For some odd reason, many people think that black entrepreneurs do nothing but sit around and twiddle our thumbs and wait for money to come in. I guess this is why we get unimportant interruptions during the day? They are really under the impression that because we do what we love we're not working. And part of that is correct, we're not working. But we're always busy and we never sleep. [...]
