Indianapolis, IN, September 04, 2011 –(PR.com)– Freelance writer and editor, Emily Suess is hosting Writers’ Week at Suess’s Pieces. The 5-day event launches with a writing contest on September 12, 2011.
“The goal of the contest is to motivate writers and bloggers to practice their craft while connecting with other writers with varying backgrounds. Using a link-up widget for submissions, participants in the writing contest will be able to browse other entries and build their writing and blogging network,” says Emily Suess.
The contest will be open internationally, though some prizes may be substituted for any winner(s) that live outside the US or Canada. Prizes include $100, $50, and $25 Amazon.com gift cards as well as professional critiquing services, professional business card design services, free e-books on writing and freelancing, T-shirts and other freebies.
Contest entries will be accepted between September 12 and September 16, 2011. Once all entries have been submitted, a panel of judges from the writing community will select 10 finalists from all of the entries. After finalists are announced, online voting will open up. Writers and readers will vote for their favorite entry and determine the first, second, and third place winners. The winning entry will be published on Moxymag.com.
“I am very grateful to Writers’ Week sponsors including, Small Business Bonfire, All Freelance Writing, and Smiling Tree Writes for helping me in supporting a growing community of bloggers and writers. Many volunteers in the writing and editing field have volunteered their time to help make Writers’ Week a fun and successful event,” says Suess.
Other topics covered during Writers’ Week will include: writing and blogging, reading, advice and tips from professional writers, and freelance writing. Throughout the week, additional freebies will be given away.
